  • 1929 Stock Market Crash
  • I can't believe I had to wait 5 hours for a piece of bread.
  • Dust Bowls
  • There was a Stock Market Crash. Stock was raised really high, but people sold their stock, which made people poor. People had to form really long lines to get food. This was also called Black Tuesday.
  • Race Riots
  • Dust Bowls were created, and farmers had to abandon their farms. They then had to move to cities. This made people have no food to eat.
  • Race Riots cont.
  • Married women had to lose their jobs since their husbands didn't have jobs. Both men and women had to stay jobless. This made people become even more poor. They had to stay in their homes for a while.
  • Hoovervilles
  • There were fights between black and white men. These were called race riots. There was lots of bloodshed.
  • There were battles between black and white people. Many people were were killed, and the majority was black. This impacted the future of white and black people
  • People who became bankrupt had to live in Hoovervilles. People of all ages had to live in Hoovervilles. People couldn't find jobs which led to no food or homes.
