  • Lady Macbeth reads Macbeth's letter and is convinced that he will become King. However, she is worried that Macbeth is too kind and does not have what it takes to take the throne.
  • Glamis thou art, and Cawdor; and shalt be What thou art promised. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o' th' milk of human kindness To catch the nearest way
  • The messenger tell Lady Macbeth that Macbeth is on his way back to the mansion. Lady Macbeth wishes for the evil spirits to take away her innocent, feminine facade and fill her up with cruelty.
  • Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty. 
  • So please you, it is true: our thane is coming. 
  • Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth that he needs to deceive King Duncan by being gracious and friendly, and then murder him to take the throne.
  • Your hand, your tongue. Look like th' innocent flower, but be the serpent under ’t.
