  • The English language needs them because it connects two sentences to make it one sentence.

  • They are dependent because dependent clauses can't stand alone. They need to have an independent to make a complete sentence
  • Correct. Question 4, explain the role of a subordinating conjunction.
  • The role is that it illustrates the importance of the independent clause and it provides a transition between 2 ideas in the same sentence.
  • Correct! Final question, explain how semicolons and colons are used. Give examples.
  • Semicolons are used when you have to connect 2 dependent clauses to make a complete sentence. Colons are used between independent clauses.
