School here in Oman is quite different than in America...
For one, we don't start school until we are 10, and 4th grade is the end of elementary school. After that, grades 5-10 are covered, so if you cant afford to go to college, you only get a 10th grade education.
School generally went from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In that time the teacher could teach the children whatever they thought they should learn.
Their aren't very many holidays we celebrate here in Oman. One you may recognize is New Years Day.
Also, since most citizens of Oman are museum, once a year for a month, everyone fasts all day, and has only small meals after dark.
However, after the month of fast is done, we have 3 days of feasting and fun!
