Christopher decided to go door to door and try and get some information from his neighbors about who killed Wellington.
First, he talked to Mr. Thompson's brother at number 40, as Mr. Thompson seemed to be absent. He didn't seem to know much at all. He also seemed concerned about Christopher going around asking these questions.
Not a bloody clue, I wasn't even in town then. You're asking the wrong bloke.
Do you know who killed Wellington?
Next, he went to number 42, but there was no answer.
Then Christopher tried number 44, despite not knowing the names of anyone that lived there. After some basic questions, he switched to a different tactic to get some more information.
Do you know of anyone who would try and make Mrs. Shears mad?
No I don't! You'd better be careful, young man.
Next, Christopher tried number 43, the home of Mr. Wise and his mother. Mr. Wise answered, smelling as if he hadn't showered in a while.
Do you know who killed Wellington on Thursday night?
Mr. Wise laughed at Christopher's interest in the case, which made him upset and walk away with no further questions.
Bloody hell, policeman really are getting younger, aren't they?
