Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Let's talk about some activities we can do to help the earth!
You can start by conserving water at home. Wasting water is one of the biggest ways individuals impact the health of the planet. You can do this by closing the water faucet when you are not using the water and by fixing any water leaks.
Instead of using the car to go from place to place, you can just stay home and watch a movie with friends. You'll be reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.
Coal and natural gas are the most common sources of energy that gets turned into electricity. The burning of these substances is a major factor in world air pollution. You can do a great change in the world if you turn off the light in you house whenever you are not using it.
Change your light bulbs. Compact fluorescent light bulbs last 10 times longer than a standard bulb and use at least two-thirds less energy. This way, less of the earth's energy would be wasted.
And last, if you have some extra space in your yard, plant some trees. Trees protect land from getting eroded, and they're an integral part of the ecosystem.
