Storyboard Text

  • But look they attempted the perfect murder. Leopold and Leob on May 21, 1923 both tried to get away with it. They kidnapped Bobby Franks and guess what? He was Loeb's cousin.
  • Yeah but they didn't make it. They didn't cover up well, and they asked for $10,000 in ransom.
  • Okay but I will admit their lawyer was a good one, he was able to get them life imprisonment and 99 years for the kidnap, he saved them from execution!
  • And? They are still known as those who committed the crime of the century soo..
  • How did they even do it?
  •  They were going around in the south side of Chicago when they found Bobby and invited him in the car and since they were family he accepted.
  • Then he got in the car they were talking when suddenly Loeb hit him 3 times in the head with a chisel, but he did try to fight but couldn't.
  • OMG! That's sad!
  • Wait I remember their trail lasted 33 days and they were discovered because they found Leopold's glasses at the scene.
  • Yeah and they were sent to Northern Illinois Penitentiary where Loeb was killed and Leopold won parole.
  • It's important because it was able to prove that no one can get away with the "perfect murder". It brought a lot of media coverage and they were hated by many.
  • Why was it important though?
