  • During this time the Northern cities started to get a lot of people immigrating their lands in search for freedom, hoping they could escape slavery.
  • Even though African Americans were free on the north they would be still overlooked by the whites, who had the biggest power.
  • There where no slaves in the north so most of them were free African Americans, but even though they were free the whites still had the grater power. So most of the slaves would work on making textiles or shipping goods
  • The South was very well known for their farming and good weather, but also for being able to grow cotton. Due to this they would be able to make lost of money and trade with the North.
  • In the South Slaves were put to work to farm and do all the thigs slave owners didn't want to do. But since cotton was very important and had to be done by hand most Slaves had to work with cotton.
  • Free African Americans would still be treated poorly in the South. They would be put to do some of the heaviest jobs that the whites did not want to do for example farming goods and taking care of the animals.
