  • Interphase is the first stage of Mitosis. Most of life is spent here. 
  • Chromosomes replicate and attach at the centromere. That is why we are going to MATH!
  • Prophase is the second stage. Chromosomes condense. Nuclear membrane disappears.
  • Metaphase is the third stage. Chromosomes line up and are attached to spindle fibers.
  • Anaphase is the fourth stage.Chromosomes split and move to opposite ends of the cell.
  • Telaphase is the fifth stage. It returns to interphase conditions. A nuclear membrane is formed and two daughter cells are formed.
