O Captain! My Captain!
When the captain, Lincoln, was murdered. The author wanted you to feel mournful.
The stuff that stood out to me were; "the swaying mass" and "while follow eyes the steady keel", because it uses words that you don't use normally.
W- Word Choice
"My captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still."
This has a very formal style to the poem. It's like the poem is a speech from a president.
They have won the war but the captain, Lincoln, has been murdered.
