  • What's particle theory Mr. Brown?
  • Today we will be talking about Particle Theory, does anyone know what particle theory is?
  • hmm, i'm guessing that's a no. Well... follow me outside!
  • You guess don't know what particle theory is?, does anyone here know what particle theory is?
  • Silence*
  • What are the different states of matter?
  • In matter there are little particles, particles attract each other, the closer they get the stronger they are.
  • So basically Particle Theory is a belief that breaks down what matter is, what it does, and why there is different states of matter.
  • The basic states of matter are solid, liquid, and gas.
  • like this rock, this rock is a solid, the particles are strongly attracted to each other and there is little motion because of how close they are to each other.
  • Ummm… do particles move?
  • Actually they are always moving, there are different amounts of space between particles depending what state of matter, that means more space more motion.
  • Yeah that's right.
  • Like putting ice in the sun.
  • Adding heat brakes the attractive forces, and the particles spread a part and gain more speed.
  • Ohhh, so like if I put my legos in pot and turn on the stove, it wouldn't be solid no more because heat brakes makes it so the particles aren't as attracted to each other.
  • Well that's all I have to teach you about particle theory. Now that's head back to class.
  • Thanks you Mr. Brown for teach us particle theory.
