Jonas is faced with his first memory of a sled ride. He is faced with a whole new world of things he doesn't understand.
"Then the sled, with Jonas himself upon it, began to move through the snowfall, and he understood instantly that he was going downhill" (103).
Jonas experiences love for the very first time and he really likes it.
The search planes stopped trying to look for Jonas and he had a sign of relief. He was also very tired and hungry.
"Finally there was an entire day and night when they did not come at all" (213).
Finally, there are no planes.
