Hi i'm Tod! Carbon from millions of years are right here in this coal! The coal is defined as a fossil fuel. Its used as a major energy source, is found in soil!
This truck uses fossil fuels found in the soil to make it move! this process is called combustion. This is when fossil fuels are burned. After it is burned the carbon moves to the atmosphere!
The carbon dioxide moves all around the world in the atmosphere. Until finally it travels to the ocean which absorbs it.
The carbon first is in the surface ocean. It takes around 1000 years to finally make it to the Deep ocean!
The deep ocean takes the carbon all around the entire ocean through ocean currents! And after awhile the carbon build up makes carbonic acid. This raises the acidic level and harms the ocan if too much occurs.
When the carbonic acid finally dissolves then it floats to the top. After it reaches the top it reaches plants. It then goes through a process called photosynthesis when is the reason why there is oxygen
