  • Joan was a girl from France. At the age of 13 she was able to hear the voices of God. God told her to save French and drive out the English. 
  • Where are these voices coming from
  • At the age of 17 Joan was going on a dangerous journey to the French army.  Joan wore clothing like a man and even cut her hair to change her appearance. When she got there she said that she was sent by God. 
  • God has sent me to help you fight.
  • One of Joan's first challenges was to free the city of Orleans. During the battle she was hit by an arrow in the shoulder. She pulled it out and kept fighting. Joan won the war and freed Orleans.
  • I've been hit!

  • Joan and her army launched a surprise attack on the English.  The English was forced to return, and when the drawbridge closed Joan was trapped. Joan was put in prisson. 
  • Let me out!
  • Joan was put on trial for witchcraft and heresy. She attempted to warn the bishop about what would happen but the bishop didn't listen. People who watched Joan's trial liked her courages answers.
  • I am innocent! 
  • Joan was sentenced to death and was burned at stake. Many people went to watch her death. After her death she was recognized as a Catholic saint.
  • Help me God.
