It was on a Saturday morning when I woke up and got dressed to go to Chruch Square, Pretoria. I was nervous given everything I had heard about the experience from others.
God, why? I'm so nurvous! What if I get mugged? I can't go alone.
I walked to the Plaza so I could catch a taxi to Church Square. I was calmer at this point because I had called a friend, whom I considered very ' street smart, and she had agreed to meet me on the way there.
After reassuring me, we laughed quite a lot until we got to Church Square.
It was packed. People, cars, vendors, noise, waste pollution, construction... all too much.
I refrained from taking any pictures or touching my phone at all.
At the end of it all, I was happy because I had survived and I had all my belongings. The experience was not as horrifying as I had heard.
