  • Rising Action
  • Whats going on!
  • Persephone was Demeter and Zeus's only daughter, so Demeter protected her a lot. Once Persephone grew more mature, she was beautiful and a lot of suiters. But Demeter would always chase them away.
  • Climax
  • I can't believe Hades took her! Im going to get revenge!
  • The most persistant suiter though, was Hades. He wanted her so bad and would do anything to get her. One day he decidied to ask Demeter for Persephone's hand in marrige. Demeter was disgusted and angry that he would ever ask such a thing.
  • Falling Action
  • Hades would not give up because of how beutiful and nice she was. She made him soft.  One Afternoon while Persephone was picking flowers from a garden, the earth opened up beneath her. Hades emerged from the ground in his chariot with his dark horses. Persephone was horrified, without warning Hades took her by the leg and dragged her down with him.
  • Resolution
  • Who do I go with?
  • For months Demeter was in dispair, but then a friend advised her to seek help from Helios. She did just that and found out thatHades had tooken Persephone. She was furious and decided to leave her duties as the goddess of harvest and fertility until her daughter was returned to her.
  • Revenge is not the answer Demeter!
  • Humans and Animals were dying because of the lack of food. Olympus finally heard the begs and pleads of the mortals. Zeus heard these pleads and went to confront Demeter. She told him that she wouldn't go back to her duties until she had Persephone again. Zeus told her that he would go get Persephone but if she wished to stay there she could. What he didn't know is that Hades had tricked her into saying that she wanted to stay.
  • Demeter was sad and furious that Persephone wanted to stay, she accused Hades of tricking her daughter. Zeus decided that Persephone would spend half the months with Demeter and the other half with Hades. People say that this is why we have autmn and winter, because the months that Persephone is not with Demeter she's too sad to do her job.
