  • I was re-elected for the seventh time , after imprisoning the opposition candidate Francisco Madero. But when he left prison, appealed to the national rebellion , it was followed by popular leaders like Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata.
  • Then I resigned on May 25, 1911 and fled to Europe.
  • I implanted the popular vote and forbade reelection. But the peasant masses clamored for economic reforms and the guerrilla leader Emiliano Zapata Southern proposed the Plan de Ayala, to distribute land among workers.
