Hello, today we are going to talk about one of the most important stories in my country (the Coffee Bonanza)
For Colombia, the 20th century was the century of coffee. Grain was the main source of trade balance income for more than 60 years. However, the coffee century ended very early
In 1989 the Coffee Pact was broken, which, within the framework of the International Coffee Organization -OIC- guaranteed stable incomes to producing countries, while maintaining the market in an environment of relative stability with few shocks
After the breakdown of the Coffee Pact, the real difficulties of the world grain market were exposed chronic oversupply limited world market (in highly populated countries in Asia one does not drink coffee, tea reigns in those regions)
.All this led us to a crisis that began with the fall in the income of coffee growers, followed by the exhaustion of the savings of the union (National Coffee Fund) and ended with the impoverishment of our farmers and the consequent reduction in the production of grain.
