Exposition: The narrator introduces himself stating time and time again that he is not insane.
Conflict: The madman is always bothered by the old man's vulture eye. He started getting increasingly anxious every time he sees him.
THE TELL TALE HEART
Rising Action: He starts plotting how to kill the old man. He goes inside his house for 8 days to watch him sleep.
Climax: The madman smothers the old man to death. He then dismembers him and puts him in between the wooden slabs on the floor.
Falling Action: Two police arrive at the old man's house because of a report of a scream. When the madman opens the door, he stays calm and leads them around the house.
Resolution: After hearing a heart beat repetitively , he gives in and confesses to the murder.
