  • In 1215, the Magna Carta was signed to limit the power of the absolute monarch so things would become more fair to the townspeople.
  • The First Parliament meets in 1295, it is a law-making body made up of nobles,knights and townspeople that help the king decide what laws will be put down
  • Elizabeth 1 rules from 1558-1603 and was one of England's greatest monarchs. She made the military more powerful and put down schools.
  • The English Civil War started in 1642-1653 and was one of the major turning points for the English goverment.
  • The Glorious Revolution in 1688 brought change and restored England, the power of the monarch was decreased and the townspeople got more say than they did with the Magna Carta.
  • Yayyyy!
  • The English BIll of RIghts which was created in 1689 and made the king work with Parliament even more, almost everyone got a say in what happens.
