To Greeks, Zeus is a supreme god and a ruler of heaven and Earth. He controls the sky, and makes storms happen. He is nature and represents the harmony in the world, and he can also regulate time.
Many believed that Zeus lived on the top of Mount Olympus with his wife, Hera. The mountain was so tall, clouds formed around the peak and hid it from the sight of mortals.
Journeys Among Men
Zeus had several temples, but his first is said to have been in Dodona on the foot of Mount Tomarus.
Zeus granted the wish to remain together after death to an old couple that treated him well when everyone else was rude. He turned the couple into trees.
Zeus likes to check on the people he rules over, so from time to time he would turn into a human and go on Earth to visit them.
Although Zeus was in charge of life, the three goddesses or the Fates, ruled over not only the gods futures, but they also ruled over the futures of humans. They rightfully decided who died and who lived.
