  • The IEP team have gathered after meeting with the TJ's Parents.
  • Teacher: The SALTILLO device is portable lightweight, the camera is front and rear facing, Bluetooth, and interchangeable shells.  The device should be charged each night.  It is an Android operating system. 
  • Aid:I hope the assistive technology SALTILLO that we agreed upon will decrease TJ's aggression.
  • Has anyone ever used an assistive device before?
  • Yes, once it can be challenging but worth the knowledge and experience.
  • Until TJ has mastered training with the device, he should be monitored closely.
  • The training to utilize the SALTILLO device wasn't as bad as I thought. Yes, I think with patience we can get TJ on track and alleviate his frustration. I think that's where his aggression comes from his lack of being able to communicate effectively.
  •   TJ was hesitant at the start of training. But later became engaged and responsive, there was minimal aggression.
  • Teacher: I want you all to keep this in mind that TJ may need to have his assistive technology adjusted, which means additional training on its usage. 
  • Ah, I am understanding SETT. We are ensuring that TJ utilizes the best tool/technology for his needs.
