I am a Medieval nun. I was placed into a convent by my family, and that is how I became a nun.
There are different ways to become a nun, as older women could become nuns as well.
Some daily jobs that we nuns performed included washing and cooking, farming, and raising the necessary supplies of vegetables and grain.
The daily life of nuns was based on three main vows, which were The Vow of Poverty, The Vow of Chastity, and The Vow of Obedience.
In the Middle Ages, nuns were usually from the wealthy groups in society. However, this changed later on.
The life of us nuns appealed to many women, as some of us were taught to read and write.
Us nuns lived in nunneries, which depended on economic support from members of the nobility.
Kings and queens, in particular, founded religious institutes and donated land and money.
