  • 20 September 1066
  • This is Duke William of Normandy and he was - well the Duke of Normandy! He won all his battles and remained undefeated until his death.
  • 25 September 1066
  • Edgar Atheling was only 14 at the time of the battle so he was not old enough to participate in it .
  • 14 October 1066
  • The Battle of Fulford Gate was fought on the outskirts of York between Harald Hadrada and his viking invaders and the two Earls of York, Edwin and Morcar. The battle was won by the Vikings. The Earls could have hidden in their city but they chose to meet the Vikings across a river. The Earls had to surrender to the Vikings.
  • The Battle of Stamford Gate was between Viking Harald Hardrada and King Harold Godwinson II. Harald was killed and the English troops advanced and finished off most of the vikings but some escaped when they realized they were losing. This meant Harold had one the battle and now only had one more opponent to beat.
  • The Battle of Hastings was an attempt by King Harold Godwinson to defend his land from William the Duke of Normandy. It was an all day battle even though Harold had the high ground advantage the Normans used great tactics and fooled the English twice by making a rumor of Williams death and the English troops proceeded to charge down the hill and right into the trap the Normans had set. King Harold was killed.
  • Harold was supposedly killed by an arrow in the eye. This was shown in a piece of art where a soldier that some people thought was Harold, had an arrow in their eye but other people believe he was brought down in a sword fight. King Harold had died, this meant that William had won the Battle of Hastings but what about Edgar....
