Understanding the Amendments

Storyboard Text

  • This place is beautiful and peaceful. Clean water and always a place to relax.
  • It won't stay this way. A new oil pipeline is going to go through here. Say goodbye to nature!
  • Save our Planet!
  • Make laws to save the planet!
  • Stop the Pipeline!
  • No Factory
  • Global Warming is real!
  • Protect the environment
  • Keep our parks beautiful!
  • You can't arrest me. Free speech is protected under the First Amendment. I can protest. I have not broken the law!
  • You are under arrest. How dare you speak out against the government and protest the pipeline!
  • Good thing free speech is protected under the First Amendment. You will be out of here in no time. The Fifth Amendment promises Due Process of the law and the Sixth Amendment promises a fair and speedy trial.
  • What are you in here for?
  • I showed up at a peaceful protest to hold a sign that said stop the pipeline.
  • Thank goodness the Bill of Rights was written to protect our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
  • This case is dismissed counselor. The defendant broke no laws, he was exercising his right to assemble and freedom of speech as protected in the First Amendment. Holding him any longer would violate his other rights. Release him immediately.
  • We live in America. It is a great country and because of the Bill of Rights, I will be back protesting the pipeline. If this was a country like China, I might have never been free again after speaking out and being put in jail.
  • Thank you for speaking up and using your voice to help protect my home.
