Storyboard Text

  • What's your annual salary?
  • Around $192,395
  • Also, good communication with the child and adult, being sympathetic, having strong intuition, patience, and attention to detail are important.
  • For viewers who want to become a Pediatrician, what qualities should they posess?
  • To be a Pediatrician, you have to like kids. You must also be able to diagnose through visual and audio clues, since the kid hasn’t developed good communication skills.
  • What do you do on a daily basis, and how many hours do you work?
  • First, I do my rounds and check in with patients who spent the night. Then I take appointments. Calls and emails are next. Finally, more appointments and emails. I work 60 hours a week, and often on rotations
  • Where do you work, and do you experience any kind of stress?
  • I work at a children's hospital, but used to work at a family health practice. Yes, I experience stress, a lot. It's hard because I might not be able to take care of all the problems that come across, and that’s always heartbreaking. Just because my patients are kids doesn’t mean I'll only be treating minor cuts and bruises.
  • What are some advantages and disadvantages of being a Pediatrician?
  • Advantages, I believe at least, are working with children, because I love kids, and the salary is nice. A Disadvantage is there's lots of school, 8 years plus residency. Also, you have to hear children cry and watch them suffer through shots, which I find really hard.
  • Alright everyone that's a wrap on Pediatricians. Thanks for coming Dr. Susan and I'm Billy Bob, see you guys next time.
