Mai An Tiêm was a hard working orphan who earned his livings by working for a nearby elderly couple.
Hearing tales about Mai An Tiêm, the king decided to come visit him. Moved by the orphan, the king decided to adopt him and take him back to his kingdom.
One day, Mai An Tiêm invited all of the princes to his house for a feast. Everyone was enjoying themselves except for the youngest son. Jealous of Mai An Tiêm, he told lies about Mai An Tiêm to the king.
Out of rage, the king banished Mai An Tiêm to a deserted island where he was told to survive without the king's blessings. Mai An Tiêm found a cave where he stayed.
One day, a flock of crows dropped tiny black seeds. Mai An Tiêm planted the seeds and they became Watermelon fruit. Mai An Tiêm sent many watermelon out in hopes that sailors would find it.
The king eventually stumbled upon a watermelon and was told that it originated from Mai An Tiêm. The king ordered that Mai An Tiêm would be part of the family again and they were reunited.
