  • The UEP was launched on the 3rd April 1930. Beaverbrook was the major driving force behind the party. He spoke at meetings across the country and used the Express to give a lot of courage to its cause.
  • The United Empire Party is committed to promote Empire Free Trade. We can escape the Depression!
  • Beaverbrook decided to throw his support behind UEP  candidates who stood against Conservatives. He was successful at  West Fulham in May 1930, South Paddington in October 1930 and split the vote in 1931 allowing a Labour victory in East Fulham.
