  • Beijing is ours!
  • We want a Nationalist government!
  • May Fourth Movement, 1919
  • Re-unify China once and for all!
  • We want China to be united!
  • Nationalist vs. Communist, 1927
  • No more Communists!
  • I'm their new leader.
  • As a result of this revolution, a Republic was created. Sun Yat Sen wanted this. The president died, and China split into two camps.
  • Long March, 1934
  • Now that we are safe, let's begin rebuilding.
  • A revolt led by students was fueled by the Nationalists and Communist ideas of re-unifying China.
  • Japanese Invasion, 1937
  • The Nationalists and Communists wanted to end the warlord rule in China. Chiang Kai Shek, a Nationalist leader, began killing the Communists. Mao Zedong became the leader of the Communists.
  • Mao led his followers to rebuild communism in a safe area outside Nationalist control.
  • Japan's invasion of China in 1937 brought a halt to China's Civil War. Both sides thought it best to resist Japan.The Nationalist Army weakened, while the Communist Army grew.
  • We have to put aside our differences to defeat Japan!
