  • In 490 B.C.E Persia and Athens fought in the battle of Marathon Athens won because of their phalanx formation strategy and because of Pheidippides The runner who warned Athens of the Persians coming.
  • Plataeau
  • In 480 B.C.E Persia and Athens/Sparta fought in the battle of Thermopylae. Xerxes leads his army into Thermopylae, Leonidas from Sparta tries to hold the Persians off but all of the three hundred soldiers he was leading die.
