  • The Temperance Movement
  • The Temperance Movement began around 1820. The purpose was to help limit the amount of alcohol everyone drank. 
  • Annie Wittenmyer, Frances Willard, and Carrie Nation created the Temperance-reform movement with outstanding leadership. 
  • The 18th Amendment stated that it would ban the sale and drinking of alcohol in the U.S in 1919 but it proved to be a huge failure.

  • Well, most men were affected but because a lot of them had children, the wives would get mad because she didn't want their kids introduced to alcohol early.
