Storyboard Text

  • Bye honey, I love you. Don't forget you're going home with Bailey since I have an appointment at 3.
  • Much of my childhood was spent in hosptials, but not because I was sick.
  • My mother had Stage 4 melanoma, and my dad, brother, and I typically stuck by her side during her treatments and doctors' appointments.
  • You guys are the best; I'm so glad to have met you.
  • My mom kept up with her normal routine as much as she possibly could, doing things such as taking me to school.
  • She fought her illness until her dying breath. I took the loss exceptionally hard.
  • She died when I was 9 years old. Now I'm a 22-year-old senior in college with a wonderful assortment of friends, a fiancé who loves me, and a close relationship with my dad and brother.
  • But a piece of me is still stuck in 2005, grieving the loss of my mother and wondering how my life would have turned out had she never gotten sick.
