In the beginning of I am Mordred, King Arthur sends all the new born away, including his son he may not even knew about. This scene is showing where the Fisher mother finds Mordred also known as Tad in the beginning of the book. Nyneve then comes and says I will take care of you if you come with me and she becomes the mother figure to Mordred.
Scene 4: Why are People Staring at Me?

What did I do? They don't know me. Maybe they saw the scar.
Nyneve tells Tad that his real name is Mordred and he has heard that before and feels that he is somewhat of importance to the royal family and has a connection to King Arthur. He tells Nyneve that he wants to meet his father and she takes him to the castle in Camelot.

Mordred has a dream that he sees these girl and boy laying in a bed together. He notices a sword that has just been laid on top their necks. When he is trying to find out who did that he realizes that the girl is gone and that there is a cauldron of something. He looks closer thinking that it is just water but soon realizes that it is blood.
Scene 6: King Arthur is Dead

Mordred walk into the town of Lothian to find Morgause and he is "seen" by this blind harpist that his bird says, "Branded branded red-handed". But Mordred didn't do anything wrong but he believes that the raisin saw his birth mark/scar on the back of his ear.
The battle between Arthur and Mordred was important for both of them because, it made Mordred realize that he was not the stronger or the noble one. Mordred was in all black. Arthur stabbed him through all of his armor in the gut and he died. Mordred smacked him on the head but he did not die.
Can I lick the blood?
After the last battle, King Arthur awakens in a type of Heaven-Avalon. Arthur's guard is a bird which turns out to be Mordred. Mordred is protecting King Arthur for however long till he comes back to life as a new hero.
