Artemisia invades Latmus
In 480 BC, during the Battle of Salamis, she became naval commander because of her "brave spirit and manly daring."
Artemisia makes alliance with Persian King, Xerxes
We would do better working together...
I don't know...
She used tactics instead of force and numbers to defeat her enemies. She also carried both Greek and Persian flags to confuse the Greeks.
Turning point in the battle
Artemisia made a plan to invade Latmus. She planned a grand festival which most citizens attended. With this distraction, she was able to conquer the city with ease.
End of the Battle of Salamis
During the second Persian attack, she gained fame and recognition by doing forces with Xerxes. She also has Xerxes alter his plan of launching a naval attack on the Greeks.
Xeres decides to go against Artemisia's advice which almost leads to Artemisia being accused of being a Greek ally. With the Greeks chasing her ship, she feels pressured and accidentally rams into a Persian ship.
I barely made it out of there alive...
Feeling regret, Xeres asks Artemisia for advice and she tells him to return home. Because of the humiliating defeat, he leaves her with his children and disappears forever.
