The Masquerade Ball starts and Romeo, Benvolio, and their friend, Mercutio enter. Instantly, Romeo sees Juliet from a distance and falls in love with her.
As this is happening, Tybalt, the kinsman of Capulet, sees Romeo and is furious that a Montague would come to a Capulet. He gets ready to attack Romeo, but Capulet stops him, saying that he is a good man.
Romeo walks up to Juliet and they start talking. They kiss and kiss again and are overcome with love for each other.
As Romeo learns that Juliet is the daughter of Capulet, the enemy of his family, and Juliet learns that Romeo is the son of Montague, the enemy of her family, they become equally distraught.
