Before the neolithic revolution there was the paleolithic age.
To get food people hunted animals or gathered berries, seeds and nuts.
Though this wasn't very efficient and people didn't get much food.

People barely had enough food to survive not to mention how dangerous hunting was.
people had to move around to find food and animals, this was just the way of survival. People couldn't have a real home because they moved around so much and lived with around 20- 30 other people. Life was hard in the paleolithic age.
