  • Girls getting an education is rarely heard of. Girls were taught house-hold skills related to running the house, farm or even raising the children. Wealthy males were tutored at home, other boys attended Dame School, then to Elementary Schools until age 14. Wealthy men were sent to colleges or Universities
  • In this time, they had 13 colonial governments. Eight of these colonies had royal governments, in which were appointed by the king. Two of these colonies were proprietors who chose their own governors. The other colony was self-governed.
  • The types of clothes they wore depended on religion and or wealth. The upper-class people wore fine materials, dress and ornaments. Puritans wore the simplest types of clothing, Poor people wore cheap 'homespun' garments.
