Francis Macomber and his wife hunted themselves in Africa, because Macomber the rich man was able to do his own hunting in Africa by feeding their own guide Wilson. Macomber loved the hunt even though he was actually afraid of hunting.
Thoughout the night long before the hunt, Macomber laid in his tent, hearing lion roar nearby. The commotion shook her nervers, so making her face in the morning was not easy.
In the forest with his wife and hunting guide, Francis Macomber froze. The lion had gotten the best of him and although he got a bullet in the cat, he didn't have the courage to finish him off, so Wilson had to do it for him.
