  • HI! I'm Bing Bong the flamigo. Yeah I know weird name. Lets get to the point! I am here to tell you the rock cycle. My mom just told me about it and I want to tell you!
  • Lets start at the beginning! First a rock starts as a sedimentary rock.  Individual pieces of  Sedimentary rocks are called sediments. A sediment turns into a sedimentary rock with compaction and cementation. When heat and pressure is added to sedimentary rocks, then the sedimentary rocks turn into a metamorphic rock.
  • What does cementation mean?
  • It means hardening!
  • This a example of metamorphic rock.  When heat and pressure added to a sedimentary rock, the rock will turn into a metamorphic rock.  When a metamorphic rock gets melted, it turns into magma.
  • This is magma erupting from the volcano!  Magma is very hot.  When magma cools and hardens, then it turns into a rock igneous rock.
