Storyboard Text

  • The Train Choice 1893
  • Discrimination is a much larger problem than I had known, and it is a problem. I wonder what I can do to help.
  • The Salt March 1930
  • Let us make salt!!
  • With this, I am shaking the foundations of the British empire!!
  • The "Quit India" Movement 1939
  • I'm hungry
  • I thought I was doing some good...
  • All these people are fighting for what's right. They understand...
  • Gandhi was given the choice to give up his first class seat on a train to a white person, or be thrown off the train. He refused to give up his seat, which began to open his eyes about racial inequality and ultimately began his cause.
  • Gandhi and 78 others did a 240-mile walk to protest against the Salt Acts, which forces Indians to buy salt from the British.
  • Gandhi and others refused to fight in WWII unless Britain gave up India. When Britain refused, Gandhi started a “Quit India” movement, although him and 100,000 others were arrested.
