  • In 1519, Herman Cortes landed on the coast of Mexico, looking for people to turn Catholic and Gold
  • In each town they marched through the natives would either join or rebel. Those who rebelled were killed
  • The towns people would give them women
  • When the Spaniards reached Tenochtitlan they were amazed. The Aztecs allowed them to stay in the city
  • Normally, the Aztecs would kill intruders on sight. But the Aztecs thought the Spanirds were gods here to save them from the end of the world.
  • Days after the Aztecs, let the Spaniards into Tenochtitlan they took control of the city by capturing Montezuma the Aztec emperor
  • A case of small pox raised through the Aztec kingdom killing millions. The Europeans who were used to the sickness were able to withstand the disese
  • The Spaniards pillaged the Aztecs gold, and sent it back to Spain
  • The Spaniards built a new city over the ruins of Tenochtitlan, destroying the Aztecs. But Mexican people relate to the Aztecs as the their ancestors. And show the Aztecs culture all over the city.
  • Over the ruins of Tenochtitlan, now stands Mexico City.
