Tom Robinson is a Mockingbird. When Tom was helping the kids and the kid's Dad walked in and saw Tom with his daughter. In the movie it states "Mr. Ewell blamed Tom for hitting Mayella and actually he did it. So Tom is innocent he did nothing." This explains that Tom is innocent and Mr. Ewell is actually the one to be punished for his wrong doing.
"TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD"
Atticus is a Mockingbird. When Atticus tells Jem that it is a sin to kill a mockingbird, he is trying to explain the nature of some people. All he does is keep Jem and Scout safe, and Atticus makes sure that Boo is kept safe from the town and police. In the novel it states that "Atticus realizes that Boo Radley killed Ewell, and it is Boo who Tate is trying to protect. " This explains that Boo was actually the one who killed Mr. Ewell but Atticus kept Boo safe.
Boo Radley is a Mockingbird. He is referred to as a mockingbird because of his innocence. In the novel it states that " Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird." This explains that Boo Radley is like a mockingbird because he was innocent. Just like a mockingbird.
Miss. Maudie "Mockingbirds don't do one thing except make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's gardens, don't nest in corncribs, they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
