  • Australia- 1770
  • Britain's Colonization of Australia- 1788
  • Sheep in the 1800's
  • Australia was scattered by Aborigines (the natives).  Than in 1770, James Cook claimed part of Australia for Great Britain.
  • Missionary Groups Arrive in 1814
  • Britain colonized Australia with convicted criminals. To solve this problem they established a penal colony. This was place where convicts went to serve their sentences.
  • The Dominion of Australia
  • In the early 1800's an Australia settler experienced with sheep and found that sheep produced high-quality wool. Australia's biggest business than became the raising and exporting of wool.
  • First Ruler and Status to Natives
  • Missionary groups arrived in Australia in 1814 to convert Maori to Christianity. 
  • During the 1850's Australia became self-governing and created Parliament forms of government. In 1901, the Australian colonies were united under federal constitution as the common wealth of Australia.
  • Australia's first ruler was Prince George of Wales. Natives and Non-Europeans were excluded form democracy and prosperity. Disease brought by Europeans killed Aborigines and Maoris.
