Storyboard Text

  • Beneatha
  • Honey--- Look in that package and see the curtains I found on sale this morning at the South Center.
  • How do you know the window size out there? They look old and worn down but the red color makes them look even smoother and softer.
  • Ruth
  • *Knock* *Knock*
  • We are the chairmen of the committee, we go around and see new people that move into the neighborhood and give them the lowdown on the way we do things out in Clybourne Park.
  • Walter
  • Please, come in and have a seat mama isn't here right now but i handle her business
  • Ron Pascuzzi
  • Hello. Ron Pascuzzi and I are representatives of the Clybourne Park Improvement Association.
  • Karl Lindner
  • You expect us to let you buy the house from us and take away the happiness we have just earned? So you're really you are saying we don’t belong in your neighborhood.
  • Goodness, even mama’s plant cries to us, wanting a more sunnier life.
  • The thing is that many have voted in our community and agreed to buy the house from you at a financial gain to your family. Our community feels that our Negro families are happier when they live in their own communities.
  • I am very sorry for what Lindner has to say to you folks.
  • Mama
  • Well--- I hope you people are here for somethin' good because it took me twenty years to get up those stairs and I am tired.
  • I believe your family is welcome to live where you want and have a good education and job. If moving into Clybourne Parks helps your family happier, I do believe moving is the best thing for you if you feel it leads to a better life.
  • Mama these two men came here today to tell us we are not welcome in Cleburne Park!
  • What kind of foolishness is this?
  • I have offered you a deal to take up on but if you refuse on it, I must leave since i’m wasting my time. Goodbye, have a nice rest of your day.
  • I would love the best for your family, you are welcome into this neighborhood. We offer great churches around here; I strongly believe everyone is to live by the Bible and follow God’s word.
  • Thank you for coming here, Mr. Pascuzzi. I’d low to visit the churches. We is very excited to move out and into Clybourne Park. We ain't there to bother anyone, and we wish you the best.
