  • The Fugitive slave law was were if Northerners helped escaped slaves then they would get fined $1,000.

  • Uncle Tom's Cabin was a slave written book written by Harriet Beecher Stowe she wrote this book in the eyes of a slave telling people what it really was like the be a slave.
  • Lincoln - Douglas Debate of 1858
  • Bleeding Kansas was were people from Missouri went to Kansas to try to get them to cote for slavery and even vote in Kansas and they dragged people out of their homes and killed them.
  • On March 6, 1857, the United States Supreme Court issues a decision in the Dred Scott case, affirming the right of slave owners to take their slaves into the Western territories, there by negating the doctrine of popular sovereignty and severely undermining the platform of the newly created Republican Party.
  • The Lincoln-Douglas debate was were Lincoln was explaining why slavery was a bad thing and Douglas was explaining why slavery was a good thing the debate was three hours long.
