Texas cowboys wore clothes and used tools that were meant for their environment . Some even wore the traditional cowboy hats , while others wore Sombreros to protect them from the suns painful rays. While most would think they wouldn't , cowboys would face many dangers including, stampedes, floods, and even blizzards. These events killed and injured many of them. They would work long hours and even fall asleep on their horses.Most cowboys earned about $300 per year, which made many of them find it hard to make ends meet.
Life in the oil fields. Living in the oil fields can change the way you live or it might not, because you will never know if this time it was a bust. For example, in 1902 the price of oil dropped rapidly.This was a part of the boom-and-bust-cycle.Many new companies that tried to form went out of business when all of the oil was dried up.
