In this scene: Macbeth and Banquo encounter the three witches. The witches tell Macbeth that he will be the king of Scotland. The witches also say that Banquo's sons will be kings.
Banquo we have come for you!
In this scene: Through L. Macbeths encourgament and the questioning of Macbeth's man hood, Macbeth decides to kill King Duncan.
In this scene: King Duncan's sons find out that their father has been murdered. Donalbian and Malcolm flee the country to save themselves from the same fate as their father. The fleeing of King Duncan's sons makes people believe that they killed their own father.
Prior to this scene Macbeth arragnes Banquos murder with some local murderers. Macbeth does this becasue he thinks that Banquo is suspecious of how Macbeth became king. Banquos son Fleance ecsapces and is not mentioned in the play again. Banquo is murdered.
In this scene: Macbeth goes to visit the witches and learn his fate. The witches show Macbeth three apparitions. The first apparition is an armored head that says "beware of Macduff". The second apparition is a bloody child that says "Be bold and no man of women born can harm Macbeth". The third apparition is a child with a tree in his hand and tells Macbeth he will fail when Birnamwood forest meets Dunsinane castle.
