Storyboard Description

Here is a little background of the story. It was during the last winter break, and I came home after the final exams to relax, work, and go rock climbing. I asked if I could only work for the first 4 days of the week so I can have the weekend to relax and hang out with my friends. At that time, my PIC at Walmart Pharmacy took professional leave, and temporary PIC took over for time being. On the last day of my schedule for the week, Walmart truck driver accidentally hit the transformer and caused a power outage. The pharmacist, who had work a full 12 hours shift, tried to close down the pharmacy but it is an electronic system to lock the pharmacy. As a result, she had to stay behind until the power came back on. Unfortunately, the power did not come back on until 4 AM, and she chose to sleep in the pharmacy, and then her car because she is scheduled to work another 12 hours the next day. Thus, I volunteered to come in and help as much as I can before I reached my weekly hours limit.

Storyboard Text

  • Yesterday was a nightmare ... The pharmacy lost power, and we were already behind.
  • I feel bad for the temporary PIC. I heard that she might not go home until the power come back up.
  • I think I should get her some coffee and breakfast as well.
  • I hope she was able to go home and has some sleeps before today. Should I stop by the pharmacy?
  • When did the power come back after we (intern and technicians) left yesterday?
  • It didn't come back until 4 AM, sadly. I tried to get some rest and slept in the pharmacy and in my car.
  • It is time to open soon, and I am so stressed right now
  • Oh noo, that is terrible. I feel like I should stay and help, but I already made plan with my friends
  • NO!! I need to stay. I cannot leave my team like this!!!
  • Hey "PIC," I do not mind stay for a few hours to help and get everything catch up. I don't mind at all.
  • No problem! I think you should try to contact our staff pharmacist (SP) to see if you guys can switch shift.
  • If you insist in staying, our team really appreciate your thought and consideration. Thank you!
  • Are you sure? You don't have too. I know you have plans with your friends.
  • Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I do this all the time. I like to help whenever I can.
  • SP will come in shortly. Thank you again for doing all of this. If you need help with anything in pharmacy or a recommendation letter, please let me know!
