  • You, driving down the street to look for parking

  • You come across a parallel parking spot large enough for your car, so you position the car to begin backing up
  • When putting the car in reverse you engage the sensor switch, which turns green to signify it is on
  • You begin to hear long intervals between beeps
  • The more frequent the beeps, the closer to the curb, the tire is. A straight beep, without interruption, means there is no space left
  • As the rear passenger tire gets closer to the curb, you hear more frequent beeping sounds

  • A driver should stop when the beeps are extremely frequent with very little, if at all, any gap between beeps

  • Once parked, the driver can disengage the senor by pressing the green button, the button will turn yellow, symbolizing- not engaged
  • Once satisfied with the space left, the driver can straighten out the car and park
