Depression & Sadness "The Catcher in the Rye"
As I was kick out of my third school I look for anything to make myself happy again and the only thing that can do the trick is to find someone I care about.
Scene 1: Holden in his hotel room with a prostitute.
"Look," I said. "I don't feel very much like myself tonight... I felt more depressed than sexy, if you want to know the truth." P.107
"Let's go, hey. I haven't got all-." P.107
This theme is when a the character Holden begins to have a lack of caring and feels that nothing could go his way and the only things that make him happy are gone or unreachable.
This scene shows that no matter what was happening Holden was still consumed with sadness and depression by this being a chance for him to do what he had always wanted to do but instead he decides to just want to talk and tries to get out of the act.
